DevOps Engineer (Remote)
About the role
We are hiring a remote DevOps Engineer to keep our infrastructure reliable, our deployments boring, and our cloud costs under control.
You will report to the founder.
What you will do
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Manage cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Run containers with Docker and Kubernetes or ECS
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerts
- Manage backups and test restores
What success looks like in the first 90 days
- Every deployment runs through the pipeline, with no manual steps
- Alerts on the services that matter, with a runbook for each
- Backups tested with a restore at least once a quarter
Tools you will use
- AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Terraform
- Docker and Kubernetes
- GitHub Actions
- Grafana or Datadog
What we are looking for
- Three or more years running production infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code
- Experience with containers and CI/CD
- Calm and methodical during incidents, with clear written updates
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours a week, remote. Working hours overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
