Executive assistant (EA)
An executive assistant (EA) supports one senior leader, managing their calendar, inbox, travel, meetings, and priorities so the leader can focus on decisions only they can make. A strong EA acts as a gatekeeper and a second brain: anticipating needs, following up on commitments, and keeping projects moving without being asked.

What it means in practice
The EA role is defined by judgment and trust more than by a task list. An EA decides which emails need the leader, which meetings to decline, and what to prepare before each call. That takes context, which is why EAs work best as dedicated, long-term hires.
A remote EA in the Philippines can cover a U.S. leader's full workday. Rekruuto places full-time executive assistants at $1,800 a month, with a 14-day start and a 1-week trial.
