Staff augmentation

Staff augmentation is adding outside professionals to your existing team to fill a skills gap or add capacity. The added people work inside your processes, tools, and management, rather than delivering a finished project. It can be short term for a project or long term as an ongoing extension of the team.

What it means in practice

Staff augmentation sits between hiring and outsourcing. Unlike outsourcing a function to a vendor, you keep control of how the work is done and who does what each day. Unlike a direct hire, a partner finds the person and handles the paperwork, so you add capacity faster.

Offshore staff augmentation is the most common version for small and midsize businesses: a dedicated professional in a lower-cost market joins your team full time and works your hours. That is the model Rekruuto runs. We place one dedicated, full-time professional from the Philippines who works in your tools and reports to you.

The model works best when you already know the work and can manage it. If you want a vendor to own the outcome end to end, look at managed services or business process outsourcing instead.
