Direct hire
A direct hire is a person your company employs itself, on its own payroll, from the first day. You run or pay for the recruiting, then take on salary, payroll taxes, benefits, equipment, and compliance. It gives the most control, and often the highest fixed cost and the longest time to fill.

What it means in practice
The salary is only part of a direct hire's cost. U.S. employers also pay for paid leave, insurance, retirement, and legally required benefits such as Social Security and Medicare. The salary calculator applies the BLS employer cost multiplier for each role so you can see the fully loaded figure.
For roles that must be on site, a direct local hire is the right call. For work done on a computer, a full-time professional in the Philippines through Rekruuto costs $1,800 a month for most roles and starts in 14 days.
