Time to hire

Time to hire is the number of days between a candidate entering your process and accepting the offer; time to fill measures from opening the role to the accepted offer. Both show how long work goes undone while you recruit, which is a real cost for a small team.

What it means in practice

Running your own search for a remote role means writing the post, sorting applications, testing, and interviewing, often over several weeks, on top of your normal work. Every week the seat stays empty, that work lands on you or slips.

With Rekruuto, hiring and onboarding take 14 days. We run the sourcing and vetting, you meet a shortlist, and your hire starts with a 1-week trial.

Use the job description generator to define the role before you start the clock.

How to shorten your time to hire

  • Write the job description and the success outcomes before the role opens, not during the search.
  • Decide the interview steps and who joins each one in advance, and block the time in calendars.
  • Use a short work sample test early so you only interview candidates who can do the work.
  • Give every candidate a decision within a few days of their last interview.
  • Track the date of every step so you can see where the process stalls next time.
